Backstage With The Students

Here's a short clip showing the equipment we were using in the video editing booths while the Ex'pression College event was going on.  Here, Fernando, Chris Ritke, Richard Pascual and I try to figure out how to capture from the digital tape into Final Cut Pro.  This was a first time experience for all of us (I had never even held a DV tape before).  Luckily, we had help from Jon Scanlon of Ex'pression.  Thanks Jon!

Jon got us going, but we ditched FCP and used iMovie instead.  It was easier as none of us knew FCP!

Then we got our next suprise: unsynced audio!

Ex'pression

We're putting on a videoblogging presentation and event at the Ex'pression College of Digital Art on Friday. Here's the first post to the new vlog.

First Videoblogging Workshop at the Digital Dojo

I made a video from some pictures and videos that we shot at the first Videoblogging workshop at the Digital Dojo.

I used iMovie on my Mac PowerBook G4. The videos are not all the great as the lighting was poor and people were just learning to use the camera (half the time we did not even know it was on).

I need to plan to shoot more video during the sessions, but everyone was so busy having fun and learning that we just forgot. Click the pic to view the vid.

Addendum: great news! One of our workshop particpants has posted her first video!  Way to go Danette!  Next week, we add a feed.

Who Is The Media?

webzine workshop Here's a quickie video I made as a demo for the Webzine 2005 workshop titled "You Are The Media: Video Blogging 101".

I could only attend Webzine for one day, but it was great fun seeing "old" friends like Eric, Schlomo, Renegade, Zadi, Carlton, Chris, Josh Wolf, Enric, Shawn and "new" friends Bre Pretis (you can see him way in the back in the picture above) , Charles Hope, Mike Huduck and Josh Kinberg.

I also got to talk with a lot of interesting people about all kinds of ideas including tagging, videoblog hosting, RSS, robotics and, of course, being the media.

Digital Dojo Oranges

The first of many vids about the wonders of the Digital Dojo.

I hope my friend Jay Dedman comes here one day.

I think he will appreciate this aspect of the dojo as much as I do.

Until that day, I guess I can mail him a box load just about any time he wants.

All the juice you can squeeze man!
