SpinXpress Collaboration - A Screencast From Dave Toole

My good friend Dave Toole put together this cool screencast about how various people used SpinXpress to collaborate around the launch of the Towerpod podcasting site at SxSW.

Camera Phone Test - Node 101 SB Teach-in

I got a new phone and it has a video camera. Creates an mpeg4 file. Too Cool. I'll bet this will be a quick upload. Here's a raw file, no editing. From the DigitalDojo presentation at the Node101 Weekend Santa Barbara Teach-in. This is a tiny picture (just 176x144), so it may look grainy if you blow it up much. Not a bad start, I think. Steve Garfield at Boston Podcamp

In a recent videoblogging video conference, Steve Garfield explained his goals as a participant of the upcoming Boston Podcamp. He is helping to organize the event and will be teaching videoblogging basics as well as taking his own podcasting skills to the next level.

Vloggercon Moments - The MotherVloggers

Jan and I had the pleasure of spending a late evening with the self-proclaimed mothervloggers at the road node house during vloggercon. We got to watch as they went through the freevlog.org videoblogging tutorial. it was great getting to know them. they were an extremely enthusiastic and funny crew. they also had these really great waffle cookies that they left with me (all gone now).

Here's a video from that evening as they create two vlogs. I asked them about freevlog, blip.tv, yiddish vs. hebrew, holland, africa and how they came together around their "united vloggers" project and as friends.

This is a bit long at about 10 minutes and the room is a bit dark (the screens show up nice however), but i think it is a good capture of this interesting multi-lingual team from Holand.

You Ain't Just Whistling Dixie

Hey Jan, do you know about this? The Online Guide to Whistling Records via BasicHip via Oddio OverPlay.

"The Trouble with Harry" is the title of one of my favorite hitchcock flicks.  It's also the title of this little piece by Elmo Tanner.

Vlogger Josh Wolf Jailed!

Gena from Out on the Stoop sums it up well ...

"Josh is being held for refusing to release the un-aired tapes he shot at a protest meeting. According to the SF Chronicle article, he could be in the slammer for up to a year. Tell somebody and have them tell somebody else. This young man has no business being in jail, prison, detention or being a guest of the current administration. He does need $15,0000 to mount an appeal. If you are able, go ahead and bust open the piggy bank.  Send whatever you can.  There is a link on his blog for donations. Josh Wolf's July 19th Video Post If you are an American, you know that this is wrong. If you are not an American I'm telling you this is not our way. You can't force someone to give up his property, especially under these conditions. If you want to find out what the fuss is about check out [this sfgate article].  I'm not asking you to agree or disagree with Josh's decision or the Feds. I'm asking that you inform yourself of this situation and then do what you believe to be the right thing. Another way to help is to visit the Free Josh Wolf wiki to help build support for Josh."
