Madge Weinstein Stirs Up The Videoblogging Video Conference

Richard, aka Madge Weinstein, joined last Saturday's Videoblogging Video Conference and challanged vloggers for longer video content. Hopefully this post will help a little. Click on the pic to view seven and a half minutes of this content discusion between several famous videobloggers. Madge says she had a great time and talked about the video conference in her own Yeast Radio podcast. Later, Richard, Michael Verdi, Schlomo. Paul and Rachel Knight, Podcaster Harold and others got into a conversation on the topic of criticism which can be found archived here (caution: mature language). The meeting chat log can be found here. Check out the wiki for links to future videoblogging video conferences and recordings of previous conference recordings.

Mocha

Mocha at Zoey's in Ventura. A few of us video bloggers and photo bloggers got together for a great little meetup in old town Ventura.  It turned out that The Ungerground cafe closed early for the holidays and we mosied on down to Zoey's which also had great wireless and a whole bunch of bluegrass music.  Here's one of the Mochas I got.  Then I showed my friends how to upload this video to Blip.TV. Too cool.

Santa Barbara Winter Wonderland

Went to a vlogger meetup in Santa Barbara the other night. Lot's of lights. Very trippy.

Elevator Pitch

Quick elevator pitch for videoblogging.

Carp Caviar Promo

I'm just such a fan of Carp Caviar, that I had to do a promo for it. Check out Bottom Union for the complete lowdown on Carp Caviar.

Stay Away From EvilVlog!

This is on the advice of several leading edge vloggers who should know. Look if you dare. Participate if you are able. It was nice knowing you as you were. Prepare to be changed. Here is a brief video excert from last Saturday's Videoblogging Video Conference, where Dave H asked "What is evilvlog.com?" The answer from Raymond of dltq.org is: Whatever you do, don't visit evilvlog.com

State of the WATM

Some have been asking about the lack of postings at We Are The Media. Here is my take on the matter.

Morning Storm

I captured a "time-lapse" of a storm blowing in the other day and compressed it down to 25 seconds. Same music as my Morning View post, but with all the bird chirps mixed in too. Click the pic to view the vid.

Best Pizza Pie in LA?

It was damned good! Some say it's the best New York style pizza in LA. It's quite possible and I really enjoyed it, along with the Italian roast beef sandwitch. Yum. Check out Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock. Click the pic to see their really beautiful and classic neon. Thanks to Carla for leading a bunch of us vloggers to Pizza heaven.

Morning View

Here is a quick (25 second) "time-lapsed" view of the hills above our home. Music is Winter Solistice by FengShui Project from the Internet Archive.  Click the pic to view the video.

Mena Trott, Apart From The Rest?

BlogHer PHotos 068Mena Trott complains "I'm a blogger and I'm scared of bloggers".

Well, Mena, I'm a blogger (actually, I'm a vlogger) and you scare the hell out of me with your repeated tantrums in public about how people should communicate in blogs. Like so many in mainstream media, you advocate that civility is more important than honesty and frankness.  Thanks, but no thanks.

This video from Les Blogs
shows that you are also a hypocrite.

If you want some more whine with that cheese, click here for similar crying at BlogHer.  Do you remember that one Mena?  Remember how you sat all alone in the middle of that wonderfully active crowd.  I was amazed that no one walked up and spoke to you, but then again, I certainly did not want to either.

P.S. I don't really think Mena is a blogger.  Bloggers engage in conversations through comments and trackbacks.  Mena does not allow comments on her blog and the trackbacks don't work (at least the one to her post is not working now).

Woodchuck

Sometimes I watch too many vlogs and have bad dreams. I recorded one. Click the pic to view the vid.

Fountain Fireworks

Just playing around with Quartz Composer's posterize effect. Here is a 30 second clip of a fountain at The Grove in LA. Looks kinda like fireworks. Sorry, I'm busy, so this is all you get for now. No audio either. Click the pic to view the vid.
